What is LAPP?

Larimer Animal-People Partnership is a group of individuals joined by a desire to promote the human-animal bond. Because we care deeply about people and animals, we strive to encourage positive interactions between them. As an organization our goals are to:

  • Explore the many facets of the human-animal bond
  • Increase public awareness of the significance of human-animal bond by offering presentations and community service programs.
  • Support and publicize current human-animal projects within the community through volunteer and networking efforts.

Founded in 1990, LAPP is a nonprofit volunteer group affiliated with the Delta Society. Many of our members represent other animal-related or service organizations throughout the community. We utilize these connections to keep informed of human-animal bond projects through the region and to help coordinate service of different groups.

If you are interested in becoming a pet partner, please visit our Workshops and Evals page to learn more and download registration forms. You will also find registration forms for evaluations if you are a current pet partner who needs to renew.

In an effort to foster bonding between humans and their canines, LAPP created The Doggie Olympics 15 years ago. This fun event gets bigger each year. Mark your calendars for September 19th, 2010. Please plan to join us this year as a sponsor, participant or volunteer. Please visit our Doggie Olympics page to see how you can be involved.
